The chipper SKORPION 300 SDT is a machine designed for community service activities and road companies which need reliable equipment to work on current tree logging sites in built-up areas and on roadsides. Thanks to its high processing capacity (the maximum diameter of the cut branches is 30 cm), it is excellent at grinding tree trunks and branches; its throat is 300 mm height and 400 mm width.

The chipper drive system includes a 4-cylinder, turbo-charged diesel engine by KOHLER (power 74,8 HP) which meets the latest exhaust emission standard - STAGE V. The engine is cooled with liquid and covered with a hood in standard. This chipper is equipped with a mechanical adapter (disk disengaging clutch) whose task is to transmit drive from the engine through a belt transmission to the cutting disc, relieving the engine crankshaft and allowing smooth activation of the chipper drive.

The standard hopper has been replaced with a hand-folded loading table. Its feed system consists of two pulling rollers, driven synchronously hydraulic from a hydraulic pump mounted on the chipper.

The cutting system in Skorpion 300 SDT is made by a disc equipped with 3 cutting blades, working with 1 counter knive or 2 side knifes. The cutting knives life has been optimized by their double-sided sharpening, which allows them to be rotated by 180°, resulting in twice the length of their use. All the knives are made of appropriately selected tool steel and subjected to professional heat treatment. In addition, the chipper disc also fulfills the task of a fan and ejects the produced chips through the rotating lockable ejection tube, which is mechanically foldable and lockable for transport. The ejection tube can be positioned in any direction at a full 270° radius and adjusted using the adjustable deflector plate at the end of the chimney.

As a standard, the chipper can smoothly adjust the feeding speed of wood for shredding. Such a solution allows small chip to be produced, which after processing on hammer mills can be used for production of briquettes or pellets, whereas thick chip is an ideal material for heating purposes or for sale for industrial purposes.

The safety of the chipper operator is ensured by a pull-rope safety switch, which by pulling the rope in any direction makes the hydraulic feeding system stop. The system is unblocked by pressing the “Reset” button; next, in order to return to the chipper work cycle (intake of material), one presses the “Forward” button. The feeding system is also stopped by pressing the “EMERGENCY STOP” button.

The chipper Skorpion 300 SDT structure is embedded on turntable and mounted on a trailer with double-axle chassis (80km/h), support weel, height adjustable drawbar equipped with an overrun and parking brake, as well as a towing device under the ball bolt or towing eye for truck or tractor. In the form of a special trailer, the chipper can be quickly moved between different places.

The chipper is equipped with LED road lighting.

Standard equipment includes the electronic No-stress system, which automatically prevents the drive system from overloading by temporarily stopping the feeding system. The editable software of the No-stress anti-loading system allows one to change the machine operation settings in a simple manner and to adapt them to individual needs. The program “thick wood”, “thin wood” enables one to quickly change the chipper work mode to adapt to the currently shredded material and to make the chipper work more effectively. The chipper is factory equipped with flow hydraulic divider of hydraulic oil adjustable feeding speed of rollers.
